| Regurgitator eduardo and rodriguez wage war on t-wrecks I love the gurge, always have always will. Be it their who gives a toss attitude towards the music industry or their originality, you have to love the gurge. This is Quan and Bens Fourth album and once again they have re-invented the regurgitator sound. Most people will agree that Tu-plang was a classic, Unit was too except it left some people saying "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff" Art was a bit of a flop (I still like it) and Eduardo and Rodriguez is.... well, very hard to discribe. If anything it is a mix between Tu-plang and Unit with maybe a touch of Art. From the big bass beats of the hip hop flavoured C'mon ,Hullabaloo and Famous to the rock of Fat Cop, and Nothing ever happens eduardo is a winner. |
The different styles on the album, is a regurgitator trade mark as is their some times dry witt, eduardo is no different. The album kicks off with C'mon, surely a tribute to Australian tenis star Layton Hewitt (maybe not). It has huge kicking bass beats with a very tidy (and quick) rap by Quan. Track two is the first single Fat Cop, rock guitars ,turntables and the typical gurge humor. Track three is the Pop track Superstraight. Hullaballoo is a lot like C'mon, but better. Head Psycho would be my personal favorite at the moment, once again very hard to pidgeon hole. F--K the god damn world sees the gurge sounding a lot like Sugar Ray.
However my personal highlight of the album would be Famous, not because of the way it sounds, just because of the message it gives. "I dont want to be famous and get my picture in the paper with headline that reads i think this is the god that made us" and it gets better. You don't need to be a brain surgeon to work out who they are having a shot at with a line like "The effect of the scandalousness of my entire reality".
Yes music lovers the gurge are back, and by the sounds of things, they are here to stay. 9/10
